NEW! A subtype of the Darrieus turbine with curved blades. This variety has variable pitch blades to reduce the torque pulsation, and is self starting. The advantages of variable pitch are :
- High starting torque; a wide and relatively flat torque curve.
- A lower blade speed ratio.
- Higher coefficient of performance.
- More efficient operation in turbulent winds
- A lower blade speed ratio which lowers blade bending stresses

Designed as a trickle charger, the Vertical Axis Wind Turbine Forgen 500 may be errantly connected to the battery. The battery cannot be overcharged and is self adjusting to either 12 or 24v systems.
